Rims for 123 wagon

Saw some rims on ebay but not for 123, same boltpattern 5x112 but offset is 51mm, where mine are 25 mm I think, also they are 16x7.5, will these fit a 81 300TD wagon?? If not what tolerences can you go to for rim and tire size?? Thanks

I'd keep the offset within 5mm of the W123 specs. Even a few mm off can dramaticly reduce wheel bearing life.

A newer style rim set can give a huge uplift in the overall look.
Good luck.

Any more offset than 30 and you may find you 've bought rims that dont fit your car. Dont risk it unless you can actually fit them on the car yourself.

As a fellow w123 driver wanting to upgrade to different wheels, I just have to rant for one second (with all the wheel fitment posts ive read and posted myself it seems to be a good time)

WHY THE HECK DID MERCEDES SET UP THE W123 FOR WHEELS WITH A 25mm OFFSET!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!

I mean, really, lets see, theres the MB 15inch 15 hole wheels, and 8 hole wheels. Anything else pretty much requires spacers.

On the w123, id say there are only really 2 design flaws: The 0m617 engines air filter bracket design is a POS...

.. and the wheel offset requirements.

GRRRRRRRR.

I guess the rest of the car makes up for those things though.

Which look pretty d@mn good on a W123/W126.

I drool at the thought of having 15" 8-hole chrome MB rims on my "Buttercup."

I completely agree... Thank GOD....at least the 8-hole alloys look AWESOME! Id love to have a set on my car as well. A friend of a friend had a w123 with 16" 8-holes, looked soooooooooo sharp. Only thing is I wouldnt want to compromise the ride too much. And tires are more expensive...

one day I'll throw a set of 8-holes on my car.

In the link above, you can click on the different size wheels and get an idea of what they'd look like on your wagon. It uses a generic shaded wagon, but if you'd like to see what they look like on a 300D, go to http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/WheelSearch.jsp?&autoMake=Mercedes-Benz&autoModel=300D&autoYear=1985&autoModClar= .

some assh@#$e sniped me on ebay when a set of 8 hole rims with a 25 offset (aftermarket) came up. I ended up buying another set from a online user that look great- and the offset is 25.
