Cool Annoucing the world's best All Season!

The Goodyear Assurance TripleTred's!

I have the stock 195/70-R14 on my car all around. Have allready saved my hide more than once this winter. My local tire dealer got them for me and installed em. $375 for tires, new valve stems, and lifetime rotations.

I was traveling some back roads at about 40 the other day. I suddenly came up to an unmarked 90 degree corner. The snow was hard packed, almost ice. I stomped the brakes and came to a stop within 50 feet. (and not 3 feet too soon! )

I talked my grandma into putting em on her Olds Alero (a very rotten snow car by the way.) She has reported a miraculous improvement in handling and traction.

Now I see that Goodyear has released a Fortera SUV tire with TripleTred Technology. If I have any say, that's what my mom's Jeep will get when the crappin Firestone Destination LE's get worn out. (Those tires already ended her in the ditch when she was driving less than 40 in FOUR WHEEL DRIVE and let off to get over for an oncoming car. Needless to say, she didn't have to work too hard to get over!)

Just wanted to share the word.

Oh, did I mention that they are awesome looking attention getters too? A little tire shine and you'll need these:

Yeah, I heard the same thing about those tires from the local tire dealers too.

Couple of problems....

There's a couple of problems there though,

First, that's for the Fortera, which I haven't had experience with yet. (Note that I said:

Second, if that was your typical SUV, it weighs less than my Benz and has a significantly wider tire, increasing stop distance when wet (or icy).

And third, I was going less than 40 (closer to about 37).

I think that your claim of the "world's best all season tire" is greatly exaggerated I am glad that you like your tire choice

Ok, my title is probably a bit exaggerated.

But, my story of my experience with them is not! When you can go through snow so deep that your floorboards are dragging and not have the slightest amount of fishtailing, etc in your RWD car, then that's downright impressive, even for a snow tire, not to mention an all season.

My $.02

I have always run Michelins but the local dealer closed up shop and retired last year; nearest dealer is now 65 miles away. Last fall I put Goodyear Assurance "Triples" on all four corners of my 190D. I found that they handle well on dry, wet, slushy or snow covered roads. Tires now have covered almost 20K miles and show virtually no wear. I have driven hundreds of miles through 8"-12" of new snow on unplowed roads with no issues whatsoever. Deere's claim may be exaggerated but from my experience thus far I would have to rate them a "buy".

Jim
