Ive got a 1989 260E and am looking to buy new tires. Ive decided on the Yokohama AVS dB. I want to get the biggest tire that I can run on. So far I dont have any suspension or braking modifications. And I have stock wheels. However, im planning on modding the suspension and getting rims during the future of these new tires. So how big can I go now with what I have now? Thanks.

post your wheel size, and what size you currently have.

if the rims are 15" then I think you would be able to go with 205/60/15 I believe which are the sportline tire size.

I'd wait on luke or one of the other people who really know about tires t giev you the proper answer.

Alon

If you have the stock 15" 15 hole rims then you can only go as Alon said with 205/60/15. Some have gone to 215 but it gets pretty hairy with that kind of width on a 6.5 inch width rim. Your best bet is to get wider rims like the 8 hole OEM or jump up to 16" or 17" rims. If you're thinking of getting new rims later then you might as well wait.

205 is visually more appealing to me...the 215 is just too wide for that rim and you will have sidewall stress problems.
