New Wheels and Tires for my 82 300SD
Alright, I'm directing this mainly at Luke, but also at anyone else who has any good info.
CAR: 1982 300SD Current Wheels: MB Part#: 1264001902 6JX14H2 ET:30 195/70R14 Tires New Wheels: MB Part#: 1264004102 6.5JX15H2 ET:21.5 No tires yet. Question: (1.) Due to the offset, I believe I need a spacer to fit these wheels. How big do I need the spacers. (2.) How much longer than stock do I need my Hub Bolts to be? (3.) I want to put a tire in there that is wider for better traction and I also want it to fill out the wheel well a bit better than the 14" one did. What is a good tire size to go with? (4.) Where is a good place to get spare center caps for these wheels? Please, bear with me if any of the questions strike you as dumb. It's late and I've been doing Psychology homework all dang day and evening...

2) The new wheels typically use a special bolt that has the conical seat in the middle of the bolt and the head up near the surface of the wheel. M/B doesn't sell them anymore but they are available on e-bay. The alternative is the standard bolt, but it looks like hell because it's recessed deeply in the holes of the wheel. 3) 215-65-15 4) E-bay or the dealer. |
