Looking for suggestions for R320CDI wheel and tire upgrade

I have a 2007 R320CDI with the stock 17x7.5" wheels, Michelin Latitude tires and the airmatic suspension.
There are several wheels which interest me in terms of a platform for a full summer performance tire, in either 19" or 20".
Has anyone had any experience with any of the "accessory" MB OEM wheels?
I like the 19"x8.5" AMG style III 5 spokes, and the 20" AMG style VI, as well as several of the 19 and 20 inch 8.5" wheels (Alanz, Sadalmelik (sp>) that are in the R-class accessory catalog.
Also I see that the is mention in the owner's manual about an "MO" designation on the sidewall for a Mercedes approved tire?
Is this for real or can I use a performance tire like the Goodyear Eagle F1GSD3?
Is the R-class suspension really "tuned" for certain brands of tire or will a good grippy tires transform the handling.
I do tend to drive very fast occasionally when the mood strikes, and the wimpy stock tires squeal a bit too readily for my stealthy goals with my R.
Does either bigger wheel size really beat you up in terms of ride?
If so I was also looking at the 18x8" 10 spokes; they look pretty cool also.
Also, one other thing.. it looks like the offsets are a bit different between R class and ML and GL wheels.
Does this mean I can't use a GL OEM wheel?
Any thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Would a question like this be more appropriate for the R-class forum?

I don't usually post to this forum and I just wanted to give this post a bump anyway...

I can only answer one small part of your questions.
The "MO" designates the original tire, as delivered to M-B from Michelin.
Any other tire with the same loadcapacity, & speed rating ,or higher, will do the job.
