What would run 235/60/16?

I am curious what car that these would have come off of. I know someone selling a set of 15 hole 16 inch rims with 235/60/16 snowtires. I would like to know what model could be running this size..... They did not tell me anything about the wheels, only that they were sixteen inches and from the pictures I can see that they are the 15 hole stock style.

Would they fit a R129 500SL 91?

I have the opportunity to buy these wheels used - they came from a 400SE and from what I've gathered from the internet the wheel dimensions are as follows:

7½Jx16H2
235/60 ZR 16

I have a 500sl which I would like to put these on. I was wondering if I could put these on my car. From the factory, the 500sl came with 8.0Jx16H2 wheels and 225/55 ZR 16 tyres.

So as you can see they are 1/2 an inch wider. What I would like to know is if these wheels are compatible with the wider SL wheels. i.e Can I fit either the 235/60 ZR 16 wheels on my SL or put the 225/55 ZR 16 that came factory.

I currently have some 17 inch alloys but the tyres are quite expensive for them at they use 245/45/R17 tyres (about 30% more) and not the more common 235/45/R17.

Could I put 235/45 R17 tyres on my existing alloys? I do prefer the 17" larger alloys but the cost of replacing the tyres are $200 vs. $260 per tyre so about $60 each. I am also concerned abit about the larger tyre rubbing against suspension as I have now had my tyres split twice after 8 months of use.
