new wheels for a 500E

Alright, basically I want bigger tires, 245 front and 275 back. Those of course won't fit my stock wheels. Will EVO II's fit these tires? Can anyone suggest any other wheels? Lorinser? Brabus? or non-mercedes specific wheels that can fit this?

hrmm...245s fit fine on EvoIIs. the 275's may be pushing the limit. you could check the tire mfgs site and see what rim widths are recommended for those sizes.

I would, personally, go with the 2-pce SL Composites from AMG. But that's just me

I have the 245/275 set up on my 500E with Rh Alurad Monoblock rims. The rims that will carry a 275 tire AND fit in the rear are fairly rear.

Mine, by chance are also for sale, for $1200. I have Michelin Pilot Sports all round, with about 5,000 miles on them.

SLK centre caps included.

hedpe, the wheels you need are pictured in this thread I started if you want the 275 & 245 size tires, however I think they only come in 18":

I have 235's and 265's (with 2001 E-55 wheels) now, but I previously ran the 245 & 275 set up with good success. 1992 500E. wider is better (to me), but the 235/265 is a good compromise on tire wear vs limit handling and a significant improvement over the stock 225/55/16's of the 500E. Best of luck

All good advice here! The EVOII 17x8.25 rims were standard spec on the E500 LTD model, with 245/45-17 tires all around. They have proven to be a popular upgrade. The BBS RSII 17x8.5 and OZ Racing Futura 17x8.5 3-piece rims were 036-specific and considered the ultimate aftermarket rims while the car was still on the market, also with 245/45 tires.

As far as the rear rims go, both the RSII and Futuras were available in 17x10 ET18 that, with a 275/40 tire, would match the fronts perfectly and present no fit issues.

I realize it is a bit difficult to find these rims today, but not impossible.
