Which tire size will be best ?

Good news ! I just purchased a set of 17" BRABUS Monoblock IV wheels and I need to decide which tire size to use.

I have been offered 225/45/17 or 235/45/17 tire size.

Could you please let me know which will be the best option to use in my 300E (W124) 1986 MB ?

By the way, my car has not been lowered.

Any feedback also on the Pirelli P7000 tire ?

Thanks for your comments.

225/45/17 is the correct size. 225's have the correct rolling diameter and will not mess up your speedo. I would go with Bridgestone SO-3 pole positions for the ultimate in performance. Or Yokahoma AVS db whic I have on my E420 they are great!!! They are exclent tires and way less expensive then the Bridgestones.

I would recommend a 215/45-17 because the 225's do tend to rub on a W124

I say if you get a fender roll, 225/45/17s. If you don't you might rub, so 215/45/17.

I've seen a w124 coupr with 17" wheels and the 235's and no mention of rubbing, but I would go with the 215 or 225's as recommended.

And get yer fenders rolled to be safe.
