Tire Pressure question for Luke

I have been running the Michelin X-One in size 235/60-16 at the max pressure of 35 psi. I am looking at the new HydroEdge tire and noticed that the maximum pressure for the stated load is 44 psi. My question is - Does it require 44 psi to carry the stated load and what percent of max load or what load will the tire carry at 35 psi?

use the pressure recommended by the placard on the b-pillar ..... but, you can alter from that to tune the ride quality and steering response to your personal driving preferences .... I seldom if ever inflate my tires to the maximum tire pressure listed on the tire

I'm sorry, that did not answer my question. If one tire is rated at 1709 lbs load at 35 psi and another rated at 1709 lbs load at 44 psi; question is: what is the load that the second tire will carry at 35 psi.
I run truck tires in size 11R24.5 and Michelin makes a chart that shows the load that the tire will carry at pressures ranging from 75 psi to 120 psi. I cannot find one on passenger tires.
The new HydroEdge tire is a 44 psi tire. The old X-One is a 35 psi tire. My size is 235/60-16.

car tires and truck tires are different so, the way you are considering load rating is incorrect ...

maximum load capacity of a tire is achieved at 35 psi for a p-metric tire and 36 psi for a Euro-metric tire .... not at the maximum pressure.

Thanks Luke, that is the answer I was looking for. One other question, how do you tell the difference between a P metric and a euro metric tire. Specifically MXV4 plus in 235/60-16 --- is this a euro metric tire? I take it that the HydroEdge is a p metric tire.
