1974 450sl
So that I can afford to restore my 230sl, I am putting the 450SL up for sale.
It's been sitting in the garage for four years since I bought it. The PO had new rockers welded in, but the floors still need repair. I just got it running this afternoon, having spent last weekend going over the EFI harness carefully. The harness is patched up in a dozen places, but they're all good repairs with low resistance on every wire. The paint isn't perfect, but it will do. The interior is red texahide. Its got a fair share of problems; seedy is the right word. But most of it is salvagable. It comes with both tops. The hard top isn't body color; it's silver. The original hardtop blew off while it was being towed. I have it and will happily throw it in the deal if you want it. The soft top needs to be recovered, but the frame is good. It's got US headlights & bumpers, but I have a spare rear euro bumper to go with it. I can deliver it anyplace between NYC and Winchester, VA (that would include DC or Harrisburg) since I'm driving down that way in two weeks. I'm looking for 2,500$ for her. -CTH PS. Make it 3,500$ and she'll come with a 4-speed upgrade kit that I purchased for another project and haven't used. It's the right driveshaft, transmission, rear end, clutch, flywheel, etc to replace the automatic with a factory 4-speed standard transmission. Last edited by cth350; 11-26-2005 at 05:52 PM. |

Question re: 4 speed conversion.
Hi, I don't really need another SL project however, I might be interested in the 4 speed conversion you mention in your sale notice.
If you are considering selling it seperately, please let me know. Many thanks, Grammabud |
