From what I have read and been told in this forum, the head work can range from 2k to high 3k.

At minimum, you will have to remove the head to inspect the head gasket or head. The problem could be a blown headgasket. It's not leaking externally, but the gasket could be compromised internally. While you have the head apart, you might as well replace the timing chain and associated parts.

If someone can afford to have it repaired, I know they will love it!

I have a really nice #14 head, leak checked, valve job, new springs and seals. $900 Or I might buy your car.

Will this car be capable of driving to Phoenix as is? I would rather do the head swap here.
