Don't have the time to deal with this so I'm going to put it up for sale. Manuall 1974 240d
Wants to run!! Ran compression test all cylinders 300psi except #1 is 200psi. Leak down test, was great 50psi lost in 11 hours. Cam lobes look great engine is very clean, looks like it has a new timing chain, and timing is almost perfect. Has records from dealership to 140k. Very very little to no rust, paint is not so good but the body is very straight. White outside Blue interior, w/dash cracks.
5 300d style alloy wheels...these are in great shape!!
2 first aid kits complete. original manual and service records.

Located in Reno, NV. Wish I had the time but I'm trying to finish my masters and work... this is just making me do neither plus I have to move soon.

I hope someone would get it running not part it out, but what ever you want.

What are the symptoms?
Do you know what is possibly wrong with the engine?

What I described is what I know. #1 has 100psi less compression that the other three, but barely leaks any air. Could be a ring, bearing, rod, or mabye a valve spring is it...I do know all the injectors pop at the same pressure and have good spray, the IP works great.. the camloabs look good, new brake master...blah blah blah.

Everything else tells my radar the this engine was well taken care of, thats why this is so frustrating. This thing has 150k of dealer records!!! I wish I had time to pull the piston and head and see what's up... but I'm trying to write my thesis and running low on time and $$, PLUS the lady is making it clear when I'm working on the benz I am doing neither
