420SEL North Texas

'86 420SEL. Has a transmission leak, hi miles, runs, drives well, perfect interior, Kenwood flip face CD, nice speakers. Everything works.
New fuel pump, filter.
16" chrome Centras.

I'll throw in a replacement transmission if needed. Make an offer, I'm easy.

Cheap driver or part out.

Dan

Jimmy L,
Thats exactly what I have been thinking. I know there is a 380SEL that a forum member in TN has been trying to sell for quite some time. He can't even get $900 for it. If I still lived in TN I'd be all over that one too.

I'm not sure. I bought the car with a transmission issue knowing that I had a good replacement if needed. After I changed the fluid and filter in the exsisting tranmission it seem to shift much better. Then I have a look a few days latter to see a big spot under it.
It has been sitting for a long time before I picked it up. I had thoughts of installing a 617 in there as I have a good donor and the 300SD I have needs interior work.
I've too many projects at this time. Ask JimmyL. Mainly his fault.
Now I have two Porsche projects I'm working on in addition to a W123 repaint.

The 420SEL has a new battery also. Suspension is tight, no rust anywhere as it has been a texas car. Dash has a small crack wood is fair. Seats are near perfect with one small spot on the passenger seat about the size of a dime. Carpet is great.
All windows, sunroof, power seats work as they should.
Paint is fair with a few nicks, one small scrape on the LR wheel opening edge.

I'm easy guys. Make some offers if you want it. It really needs to go somewhere else before the city gets on me. Nothing like having a big black "S" class MB and a Porsche 911SC sittin' in the drive making 'em wonder what it is I do.

That would have been me. I sold the car last week to someone fairly local. Took less for it @ a huge loss and I hated to see it go, but I just wanted someone get it that could give it the TLC it needed and I was out of space for more cars/insurance. Carry on.

Does it run well enough to make it back to Michigan on its own power? (1,050 miles or so) Even if it goes through 10qts of dexron to get there....?
I'd need the spare tranny.

I'd take it for $750....
