Summer is flying by and I want to get the ball rolling as I need to move these two cars. I never seem to have time anymore, or energy and I've got to much. here are the ads on Boston's craigslist.

Rear bumper is back ON!

Got the back bumper back on with associated hardware. Those backup lights aren't going anywhere. More fresh pictures here http://asnowsquall.smugmug.com/gallery/3238254#179084572 May end up sticking it on Ebay soon.

gregg,
I'd like $5,500 for the 87. May stick it on Ebay. Pictures from yesterday here http://asnowsquall.smugmug.com/gallery/3261819#180654791
Thanks,
Dave

Got someone local interested in the 87, he wants a garage to look at it Tuesday. The 82 ends tomorrow with 74 people watching it which is the most I've ever had. Person with zero feedback made a bid, hope whoever wins it follows through and is legit.

So there you have it, someone from "LA" won the car as they did another MB last month out of New Jersey. Haven't heard anything from them, nor do I feel I will. Well, this gives me a chance to order they seals and fix the leak. I'll also pull the driveshaft and fix the vibration. Who knows maybe I'll tackle the emergency break. Oh ya I'm selling my projects.....

So the zero feedback bidder (marpelpethes) failed to come through? Is the winning bid what you're looking to get for the car? At that price, I think I could add on top of that tp get it shipped here to LA (yes, I'm from LA, and no, I'm not a dead-beat ) with DAS shippers or something.

I just put it up on the car ramps and I'm going to fix the oil leak the right way, no more red RTV. From what i can see the parts look like only about $5. I think I'll pull the driveshaft also and get that straighten out so it doesn't let go on someone. Emergency brake would be nice. I'll end up relisting it after the work is done.

Dave,

Would you sell it for the winning bid amount outright? I'd either ship it back here to SoCal or AmTrak it out there and drive it back (if feasible). Let me know, I'm very interested.

Vad,
I started to repair the oil leak last night. Its most likely going to take me a little while as I'm on vaction for a week. I'll keep you in mind, but it seems to me that with what it will cost you in shipping that you could find a cleaner wagon in your area.

Dave,

Its actually easier to find East Coast wagons. It seems that there are just more of them out there. Besides, my girlfriend and I were planning a New England trip anyway, so once the driveshaft is fixed, we could fly/train out, grab the car or a U-haul trailer and bring it back.

I want to sell a car, but this car, 3,000 miles across the USA, and a U-haul trailer sounds like a recipe for a long trip. Sounds like a bit much.
If you'll notice in my Ebay ad it says the emergency brakes aren't working.
Think I may have to fix those too.
Parts are coming for the leak and driveshaft.

The leak at the Turbo return line is fixed, next I'll look at the driveshaft.

I'm interested in your 1987 300TD, esp. if it passes a PPI.

Needs to be fairly rust free and A/C needs to be working 100%.

I'm a long-time member of Mercedesshop, you can search under my screen-name "ke6dcj" and see the C36-powertrain transplant I did on our 1988 300TE.

I'll send you a PM on my contact info.
