Rodd, the seller is also at least somewhat more realistic on that as well, price-wise. Keeping in mind how mileage doesn't matter much (if at all) on these engines, though, I think they're all a bit crazy

Thats a ton of money for those cars, do they really sell for those numbers?

You could get a 2003 E55 for what those guys are asking.

If only bringing in Euro W124's from Japan was not so difficult, I'd take this one in a heartbeat. Hell, the front seats alone are worth $3K:

Bruce, that one is REALLY slick!

Are you saying they cost more to import than 126's?

Not sure if it costs more or less, to be honest. Or how much conversion work is involved compared to a W126.

It's just that checking condition, records, paint/body quality, etc. from 8K miles away scares me. I would either have to go myself, or trust someone else, which scares me even more!

Plus I am no W124 guru, so would not even know to ask about wiring harness and other W124 question marks.

But from the subtle clues I see (Recaro C seats dyed to match, high-end wheels, nav system clipped onto console instead of drilled into dash like most of them, period-correct Nakamichi head unit, etc), I think someone loves/loved the car. That's always a good thing. I am guessing it could land, converted to US laws, for $30K. How much HP does a Euro E500 have....more than 315?

Nice ride, though, eh? And with 43K miles. Yummy!

If you could get it into the US for $30k, that would be a bargin compard to what they are asking for the other ones. It has half the miles, and some really rear options. You could probably resell it in this country real easy.

dyno...is that your car for sale in Iowa?

Looks great, one of my favorite colors for the .036 ...but folks, EvoII rims are not rare in any sense of the word. Very easily obtained from your local dealer for about $350 each.

Price is steep but what the heck, why not ask that?....there are folks who buy that kind of car in that condition...just not here !

Bruce...why you no ever come to S-fest?

I always plan to, but then I get my kids for those two weeks of the summer, have job travel, wife is pregnant (again), etc etc.

I have bailed for last three years running. Argh.

An '89 SEC AMG with 31K miles, black/black, probably going to a new home soon. A couple of low mile stock SECs, one an '89, one a '91, my SEL AMG 6.0 32V still arriving, and an '88 widebody SEC with 27K miles in a month or so.

That's plenty for me!

Bruce
