1995 E300D for sale in Cary, NC (near Raleigh)
177K miles
Midnight Blue (not sure if that's the official color name, but it's a deep blue)

5K miles on Yoko YK520s
10K on all 6 glow plugs
OEM all season mats
Interior in good shape
A/C operates as expected

Now, here's what you need to know:
  • As you can see in the pics, I have done a custom audio installation. I am not a professional installer, hence it will not look all that slick. However, it does sound pretty good. Here are the details:

    • Nakamichi CD-400 head unit with aux in for an MP3 player
    • JL Audio 8" sub with JL Audio 250w mono amp
    • MTX 300W amp powering two rear JL Audio 5x7s on hat shelf
    • PPI 70w amp driving two MB Quart 6.25" speakers in custom enclosure, front doors
    • Eclipse 40w amp powering two 4" JL Audio speakers, also in front
    • Replaced all four factory speakers with Rainbow drop-in models from Germany (they are driven by the HU)
    • Pyle capacitor
  • Driver's side power window is stuck closed
  • One very small ding near front passenger fender flair
  • Note additional cigarette lighter outlet in console (much easier to access than the one in the ashtray

I realize some of my mods may have devalued the car, but she rides smoothly and yields about 32MPG on the highway...and sounds fantastic. I'm sure I have invested over $3000 on the sound system and I have no illusions about recovering any of that.

I'm purchasing a new car and I don't want to be insulted by the trade-in value, so I want to sell her to an enthusiast. Starting price: $6,000

Any chance of an engine picture and a dinged-fender picture? (I can't afford another car but it would be nice to see that just in case. Never know. Somebody else might be interested too.)

Yes, here's a pic of the engine bay. I'll get a pic of the ding tomorrow.

Clean '95 E300 Diesels have gotten around $8,000 on ebay recently. You might be leaving money on the table.

Here's one that looks to be in similar shape to yours that a ShopForum user posted for sale here recently, put it on ebay, and got $8,900 for it.

EBay Motors is having a promotion this weekend - no listing fee for a passenger car. It could never hurt to list with a higher reserve than what you're asking here. You might reach someone who highly values the audio system.

Due to increased taxation and fees in the glorious state of Virginia, I need another car like a hole in the head. But yours looks like a good opportunity.

You're welcome, and what's more, there is no charge for my advice.

If you put it on ebay with good pictures, I'd be surprised if it sells for less than $8K........even with the cheezy speaker mod. People are willing to pay a premium for 1995 W124 E300 diesels.

Too bad I couldn't export that car to Canada, I'd be all over it like sink on $hit.
