listed my 300SDL W116 on ebay
I am giving this another shot, since the last time I listed it was at thanksgiving time which was probably not the best time of year to try to sell a car.

Thanks. I took a turbo diesel from a W116 and put it into a gas W116. Everything bolted on. Its technically a chopped car, but had mercedes ever made a long wheel base W116 diesel, I cant imagine it would have been any different than this car.

I would like to see pics of the 79 450SLDC. Wouldnt it be a 300SLDC though?

Your car has the cleanest interior on any W116 I've seen in a long, long time.
The dash top is unblemished and the wood appears flawless.

Thank you all. I have the engine and trans out of the 450. It is in excellent condition. When I removed it, I was very careful not to cut anything. Its all unbolted. Before I took it out, I replaced with new, the starter, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, belts. I would like to get $1500 for the engine with trans.

reserve was set at $11K. With patience I think I will find a buyer at that price. I have several interested parties since the auction end, but if niether buys it, I will relist it, perhaps with a slightly lower reserve.
