FS: '79 240D 4-speed - East TX

I don't have to sell this car but I'm losing my storage space for the time being. I got the car from a buddy of mine, Eric (Hit Man X). It's a '79 240D 4-speed, manual windows, manual HVAC, manual sun roof, etc. I know a lot of people have wanted to get ahold of this car for parts which is cool, but I'd rather sell it to some one who plans on driving it.

I'd like to get $400 for the car. Yes, I am willing to negotiate. The quicker you can come get the car with cash in hand, the lower I will be willing to go with the price. The car is located in Tyler, Texas--about halfway between Dallas and Shreveport. PM me with any offers.

I am not willing to part the car out. If you'd like to score a specific part, just buy the whole car.

On to the description:

RUST:

The worst of the rust is back behind the battery tray against the fire wall. There is about an 8" in diameter hole in the firewall itself. This is the only rust-through on the entire car. As a result of the hole, the floor boards have some scaling which will be posted in pics, but no rust-through, as previously stated.

There is scaling in the sunroof tracks, but the sunroof still functions properly.

There is a bit of cancer under the driver's side door which doesn't have to be replaced but it is there and should be mentioned, along with about a 5" across area on the lip of the trunk opening near the tail light on the passenger's side.

ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN:

The engine is currently disassembled down to the short block and will need to be rebuilt. There is some scaling inside the cylinder walls, so if you do not plan on re-sleeving this engine or replacing the block itself, do not purchase this car. The 4-speed tranny engages in all gears including reverse.

INTERIOR:

The interior on this car is pretty nice. I'd rate it a 6.5/10. Nothing show-quality, but definitely presentable. The driver's seat has a small tear on one of the seams, about 3" long. The other seats could use a little cleaning but there are no issues as far as rips or tears. The dash is cracked, which should not be a big surprise.

BODY/PAINT:

The car still sports it's factory paint and qualifies as a solid 20-footer. The only spot which is starting to crack is on the passenger-side quarter panel. There are a few scratches here and there and the driver's side door/fender has a dent which needs to be popped out. I don't think it will be too difficult to remove the dust shields in the fender well and pop it out with a block of wood or something.

More pictures can/will be added upon request.
