My 87 300d
87 300d. I have not owned it very long. but here's what I can tell you about it.
I put on new shock front upper shock mounts. replaced the thermostat. replaced the secondary water pump (for idle cabin heat). I have a brand new never opened water pump sitting here for it. I have had all the injectors tested. I've got receipts on the car going back years, it had a crap load of work done to it by a PO a couple years back... Has a newer optima redtop battery. Interior is fair, no rips etc. dash has cracks. I've replaced the mono wiper transmission and motor. Brand new windshield a month ago. I have also replaced any and all switches that had been broken etc. Body is great on this car. A limited amount of rust near the front shocks, everywhere is clean. Has #14 head. I have ran this car hot (due to the leaking water pump). Car is missing on cylinder #4 #3 is running 25 degrees hotter than the rest. I have done all the test for a cracked head and it seems fine, Peach parts says is the head gasket. That's a repair quite outside my realm of comfort. I'm not sure I have the skill to fix it. Since I bought the 81 300d and the 85 300cd that I'm looking at right now, I'm just thinking maybe it's best to let it go. |

No idea. what's it worth. I would like to get 1500 out of it. (I have more than that in it right now.) The headgasket kit with new bolts etc, is 125 bucks. Does it need a head? I don't know... peach parts says no, but your always chancing cracking it when you remove it... |

I dont think you chance cracking the head when you remove it but you chance it when you over heat. |
