Any interest in my 82 300TD?

Having $$$ issues again... Lost work. So seeing if there might be any interest in my 82 300TD.

360K on odometer. (works)
New paint. Black
Redid interior (Also Black) Split rear seat.
Has new Timing Chain, balanced injectors and timed IP done by PO.

You can follow along on the work I did to it here.. The OK, I'll restore the 300TD Thread...

Have new material for new headliner. Have already replaced the rubber bow mounts with new rubber.

Transmission will only shift if you goto neutral than back into drive, been like this for a couple months now, but transmission is strong with no slipping. Have a rebuilt spare sitting here with a bad pump should you want it.

Also have that "new" Metric Motors engine sitting here with 10k on it.

Make an offer.

Sorry more thoughts after reading the thread (lots of progress

-How far did you get in the vacuum system?
-did you do the brakes?
-Any suspension work completed since Feb.?
-SLS is right on?

-Are the AC system installed, functional or what is needed?

-Does it come with the stereo?

-How about the 4speed set-up?

Not knit-picking, just throwing out the questions that are bound to come up

Very tempting though with all this attention you gave it!

SLS systems works perfect. Have not touched the brakes yet. No suspension work done. Steering is tight as PO fully rebuilt the steering box. He also rebuilt the Vacuum pump. Has a new Battery in it. Stereo will remain in car. Passed on the 4 speed due to finding out about work and had a feeling... I replaced the rear wiper motor and it's working perfect now. I also just swapped the ignition. Using the one from my 85 I parted out. I'm using it as is, but retained the original in case someone wanted to use the barrel to rekey it back to the original.

Central locking is not working. I have not even looked at it to see why.

Shockes etc are fine. The front suspension is fine, but one of those things that should be done simply cause the rest of the has. there is a slight pull to the left, which I'm sure an alinement would take care of. I may just run it over to MB and have them put it on the hunter.

I bought new tires last year for the 85 and put them on this car. Rims are in nice original shape.

Car still needs a windshield, The headliner installed (I have the new one sitting here)/ It could use all 4 door seals. And, some attention to the dash as it's got a issue near the key.

I have a couple A/C compressors here and an extra Dryer. Plus all the lines etc to replace the A/C system. PO cut both main lines instead of removing them. I was planning on putting them in this week since It's spring break for the kids and I don't need the car to go pick them up.

One I took off my 85 and know it was working. The other I got from Vstech and have no idea if it works or not. both will be included. The car will also need the expansion valve under the pass dash.

This is the only W123 I have left. SO I may be willing to let some other things go with it from the 85 Part out. (like the 85's rear end and instrument cluster.) My extra steering box, my extra blower motor, Climate control, full set of window regulators and motors plus a pile of other miscellaneous parts. I even have a spare 2 prong tack. And even an extra rear hatch door (good glass)

The extra transmission I have for it came out of the 85. It's the one I have pictures etc of in this thread... Trans failure question

You can see by the markings inside it that someone has been in there and rebuilt it at some point. The car only had 172k on it so It would have been fairly recently I would think. It was my error seating the torque converter to the pump that caused the issue and I'm guessing simply replacing that pump would fix it. I was thinking about swapping the pump from the current trans to it. Vstech also said he has a couple pumps.

Would you be interested in getting rid of the extra cluster or any other parts from the parted 85? Maybe I could check back with you after the sale to see what you have left on the 85?

I've recently acquired a 85 300TD that definitely needs a donor for speedometer/odometer or cluster, possibly AC and SLS parts (though I haven't diagnosed those systems yet to say for sure).

I really want the cluster to stay with the rear end. That way it's an easy and correct swap for someone, (including myself). I don't have any spare sls parts.

I'm going to again try and find the time to get outside and install the A/C. Maybe today...
