1983 300TDT Wagon
I fell in love with this car when I first saw her. She needs a lot of love though and I don't have the time or the budget to invest and restore her. I bought her in March of this year for $2,400 and believing more and more that I paid too much for her considering the work she needs. In the past couple months I have replaced the thermostat, all four tires, one headlight, the AC compressor, evaporator, and drier, brake pads all around, rear rotors, front calipers, brake master cylinder and the brake booster (I've spent $1,200 on the parts) My mechanic is still working on getting the AC to actually blow cold (its cold leaving the unit but doesn't make it into the car). The front tires are already shot (the Kuhmos I outfitted her with are supposed to be good for 40,000 miles and she's been on them less than 4,000) I've been told this is indicative of suspension, axle, and alignment issues. The transmission (automatic) is starting to slip and will need to be replaced soon. There are also several leaks that need to be chased down. She has very little body damage (a few small dings here and there, but a small rust patch on her roof near the rack) but could use a good coat of paint. The interior is a bit iffy...it seems the hatch leaks and the carpet is damaged. She has the (rare) third row fold out seat. I'm hoping to get $3,400 but other offers will be considered. I want her to go to a good home.

Sorry for your loss. Most of us have purchased the wrong car at one point or another. Gets to the point where you don't want to throw good money after bad. Part of the remaining problem is that front suspension rebuild isn't cheap, trans rebuild is 1500, if hatch is leaking you may have rust that you don't know about too. Good luck and best wishes.
