FS: 1990 300E great condition (lots of images)

For sale is my 1990 300E that was formerly my daily driver. I've had it for 3-4 years and I hate to see it go! Please PM me if you are interested, want further contact info, or have any questions -- I'd prefer not to leave my number on here in the open.

Good:
- most importantly for a 300e, the TRANS WORKS GREAT! No hesitation or slipping into reverse, shifts smoothly but firmly through all gears. When I took the pan off to change the filter there were no filings or debris in it.
- 89k (indicated, odo is off) so really somewhere a bit over 100k based on condition.
- Interior is in fantastic shape
- only rust is a surface bubble the size of my pinky nail on the back right taillamp, ZERO rust everywhere else
- New tires with almost full tread still left (5k on them)
- ZERO squeaks or rattles, very solid
- replaced spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor when I purchased car
- replaced front brake rotors with ATE premium vented, new bearings for the front, new pads all around, new hoses when I purchased the car
- New fuel filter, trans filter (flushed), air filter, thermostat, rad hose

Car runs and drives excellent.

Bad:
- A/C needs to be charged. Worked slowly worse each year and this year its nothing.
- odo is off, so true mileage unknown. Don't let that deter you though, BUY ON CONDITION. Its a 20 year old car and hasn't seen much.
- cruise never worked, I never use it
- Seems like the Philly roads have caused the slightest of knocks going over bumps in the front suspension. The RF tie rod end looks almost split so that is most likely it. Cheap repair but I don't have the time to do it, and it is still very driveable. This one only started in the last couple weeks.
- RR window doesn't work
- washer fluid bottle needs to be resealed at the pumps, something I never got around to doing.
- Looks like rear left 1/4 panel was repainted or touched up at some point, it is scratched more than the rest of the car but you'd only notice very close to it. No accidents on carfax.

There's an interesting history to this car. Some might remember me mentioning a VIN issue here and there. This car was a theft off the lot in 1990, then it was recovered and registered. Somewhere in the process the A-pillar VIN got scrubbed along with a couple door stickers. I wanted to do things properly and over the table rather than under. So I went to the CT DMV, opened a case and they investigated/inspected with a fine toothed comb. This winter I was issued an official CT VIN reissue sticker (pictured in doorjamb) and I have all the required and non-required paperwork signed by the lead CT investigating officer. This sticker has a control number and is official in any state. The title is also clear.

I recently drove this down to PA from CT and it didn't miss a beat! I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere, although needing the A/C charged might be a drag. I only put on about 15k on this car, having worked from home most of its ownership, then handing it to my parents for occasional use. Now I have no use for it, I start it up and drive it around once a week just to keep the juices flowing. I am asking $2800, obo.

Here are the pictures:

Also, I've noticed the left side of the trunk is slightly misaligned, looks like someone tried to shut something too big into it. I have also cleaned out the interior of the car since taking these pictures I realize in a couple of them I hadn't vacuumed yet . Regardless, this is one of the nicest 300E's I've ever seen. Folks who have been to the SE PA bbq have seen this in person, garnered a lot of compliments!

Car is located in Ardmore, PA 19003.

I bought Tom's old 300SD, and can say that he is a very reasonable & nice guy to deal with, and that he really cares about his cars (he seemed sad when his 300SD left ). I would buy another car from him in a heartbeat if I had the money.

Thanks Jooseppi! I was sad to see that one go too, I'm glad that it lives on and you're able to enjoy it though!

What are those wires visible down on the floor next to the driver seat?

Rear speakers/sub amp input. Normally they're tucked right against the door sill and under the carpet.
