what is a fair price?
hello everyone!
I'm interested in buying a 1980 6.9 Euro model in the Bay Area. It has 234,00 miles on the odometer, sunroof does not close properly,a crack in (walnut?) wood next to window switches and the exhaust system is about to fall off.The seller told me hit "something" in the road to cause it to come loose. He is the third owner and has had the car for one year.It appears he does not know much about the car and wants to get rid of it urgently. He wants $3300 for the car.It drives very well except it feels like it could use new brakes, new exhaust system and possibly a new steering pump. The body is in verygood/good condition. Its the dark grey (I love this color) with black leather interior and the car is currently smogged and registered. My mechanic says I should not pay more than $1500 for the car.Any suggestions.Thanks. Maybe the sun roof is not fixable, hence three owners in one year
I would check it out to see that it is fixable first
