You should be able to cut down pool noodles to fit inside weak springs.

These do work great, many people use them

these work in a different manner.. the pool noodle fix fixes breaks in the square springs whereas this "noodle" restores the front springs and brings it back up to the proper height..

the black noodles are also of closed cell construction and will not degrade as fast as pool noodles which are open cell construction... I have seen a set go on ebay for $25.. but I think a set on ebay is 4 pieces.. I'll look into it later

Alas, due to none of the closed-call inserts available for my W114, I may be stuck performing the noodle trick.
I assume you have to take the seat cover off to insert...

I didn't see an answer to this question, so I'll bump it up. My 300TDs's front seats feel like they may need some of these foam pieces.

Oh, I also wanted to know how hard they are to put in?

Easy. That sounds good to me. That's about my skill level . . . . :D

You really don't have to pull the seat to take the bottom cover off. Pretty simple process.

I'll put it on my Spring (pardon the pun) To Do list.

I purchased these bolsters to fix the seat sag in my 1985 300TD.

You don't need to remove the seat, just compress the seat bottom and slip the seat skin edge band out of the retaining lip. Then pull the skin up and over the seat for access to the springs.

I also noticed a broken spring so I took a piece of old hydraulic line and put a piece of metal hanger inside it to make it stronger. Then I bent it 90˚ and wrapped it with bailing wire along the broken area of the spring.

After that I pulled the seat skin down and compressed the seat bottom so I could put the edge band back into the retaining lip.

I did both front seats and they feel like new seats again!! :thumbsup: Both seats took me less than an hour.

^^^^^Thanks for posting pictures and a nice little how to. I'll be doing this ASAP. My drivers seat causes me to have a pretty serious lean going on if I dont have a pillow!
