WTB: w126 SLS Components

Hello everyone,

I was talking to a guy about some SLS parts but he hasnt replied in the past few days so I'm relisting.

A friend of mine has a 560SEL thats very bouncy and leaky.

Looking for good accumulators
Looking for good rear hydraulic rams (hyd shocks)

As far as we can tell the level control is good and functional.
System eventually will level the car, but after sitting it leaks out at rear.

The pump leaks but we're going to try replacing a few seals from this kit before considering replacing the pump.

Shipping would be to 44511.

Thanks!

-Kris

I got a pair of 126 accumulators for $50 shipped. I also have w123 shocks, not sure if those work.

I'll let my buddy know on the accumulators.

EPC reports only w126 cars will work for the SLS shocks.

Can you tell me the part number thats on those accumulators? EPC reports a bunch of different vehicles had them. I just want to double check the part number.

The potential issue with accumulators is that in wagons they are mounted inside the chassis vertically with their openings pointing downwards and sedans usually have them mounted underneath and outside of the vehicle, usually horizontally. There may be a way to use them interchangeably but I’m not certain of that, you can check the EPC to see if it’s something a simple as a mounting plate/adapter that is utilized

There are a couple of the things to check out with used replacement struts beyond the obvious “Do they leak at the rod seals?” such as are the protective rubber accordion bellows/boots are intact as they are not available as separate replacement parts. Also there is a ball joint at the bottom of the shock that should not be worn/loose or seized/tight, the threaded portion of the shock's body where the fitting for the hose is attached should be undamaged. This sometimes gets damaged if people don't remove it before attempt to remove the strut; it sticks straight out perpendicular to the strut body and can get tweaked damaging the threading in the strut’s body.

If you don't find the shocks/struts/rams elsewhere I have a very good pair from a woman owned 1986 SEC that had 156K, which should be the same as the 126L struts.

BillyBob,

You are correct, the 123 and 126 share the accumulators. The 126 has a mounting plate. I checked this with the EPC.

Could you PM me with a price shipped to 44511 for those rams on that SEC? Your the first who responded with shocks/rams.

Bump, Still looking for accumulators, pump and rams.

Thanks for your time Billybob. Sad to hear about the bellows on those units.

Anyone else have a set of these items? My friend is in dire need of them as his current mode of transportation requires massive service
