I was browsing through the forum yesterday and found an interesting post in regards to a letter sent by MB stating that 1998-2000 ML 320 Engines are covered for 10ys/150k miles. Well, I never received such letter, so I wonder if my ML is included. Does/could anyone elaborate on this? I purchased my ML in August of 2000, brand new.
I thank you in advance, Ric Ann Arbor, MI 00 ML320 105k

Yes you are covered, I have the letter and most of the information you probably want to read about it is in this FSS Lawsuit thread.

I think there are a few hoops to be jumped through for this coverage. With the letter I think they give a coupon for an oil change to synthetic oil. Then you have to keep your receipts for your oil changes showing synthetic was used, and keep those and if anything happens, you're covered.
But on 2000 and newer, they had the Maintenance Commitment plan (factory supplied maintenance) and I am unsure how this affects the extended warranty situation for the engine, this plan may be only for 98 and 99's, read the info. Gilly
