2005 ML 350 questions

New to this forum so please be patient. Several questions. 1. What chassis # designation does this vehicle have. 2. What engine # designation does this vehicle have? I need to service the transmission(98,000 miles). What items such as filters ,gaskets, or tricks should I be aware of? I routinely do all the service on my BMW mc, so I think I can do this without breaking something. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: 2005 ML350 Questions

2005 ML350 (Engine:112.970; Chassis:W163.157)

With this information you should be able to find the parts you seek on either of the two parts sites associated with this forum.

If you search in this forum, you should be able to pulll up all posts regarding DIY projects on your ML.

Good Luck!

Best advice you can get is to understand the following:

1. Mercedes provides service information either via a service DVD (800.for.merc) or via paid subscription to startekinfo (http://www.startekinfo.com)

2. Mercedes provides free access in USA to the entire spare parts system (http://epc.startekinfo.com)

Mercedes is MUCH better than BMW in this regard.

Attempt nothing without reference to official service procedures.
