Noisey rear wiper

My rear wiper motor/mechanism creaks loudly, I need to get to it to investigate. Any hints on removing the tailgate interior panel to observe/replace whatever I need to?

You need a rear wiper motor, common problem.

Thanks, any idea where to get a fairly priced replacement? I couldn't find one on here and how about removing the interior panel to get to the motor, do I just start prying carefully or is there a trick to it?

Email Phil directly for a price quote, I know he can get this for you.

Here's a few hints:
First remove the cover on top which you'd remove to repalce the center stoplight, just squeeze the sides and carefully tilt it back, and pull out slightly to disengage the 2 tabs. Careful, you CAN break those 2 tabs rather easily, some guy told me that . Next remove the inner door handle, to do this you need to carefully pry out on the TOP of the square frame with a small screwdriver, then with a larger screwdriver press the whole frame "up" towards the rear window and it'll slide off. OH there is a small phillips screw that needs to come off first, you'll see it. OK, by the bottom corners of the rear window, where this panle meets the inner window trim, there are 2 "button" fasteners which need to come off, you'll notice a small "dot" inside these fasteners, push those buttons in about 1/4" (NO MORE!), then you can remove these fasteners.
At this point the inner panel can be removed by tugging out on the bottom, progressing towards the top. The top edge of it (by the base of the rear window) is retained by 4 or so large pastic retainers, you need to shove the panel towards the glass to disengage these retainers.
After that you may need to replace a few of the snap-in fasteners, they occasionally break or split.
The wiper motor is easy enough, one nut holds the arm onto the motor on the outside of the truck, one electrical connector and 3 screws hold the motor in place. Oh and the washer solvent hose needs to be removed also.

cheap fix

I took out the motor and disasembled it and the central plastic tube for the washer that stays stationary while the the main wiper shaft rotates had simply bound up inside, Slid it out, cleaned it up, lubricated slightly with extra grease that was in the motor gear box and problem solved. Must be careful to get the gears aligned right on reasembly or the motor will not cycle properly.
