Have an ML
much noise from front pullies. 320Can't see how to release tention on tentioner. Can some one help?

There are two different styles of tensioners for those cars. Most likely it hasn't been replaced and it's the original style. See the torx bolt from the center of the tensioner pulley? Put your torx socket or a fairly large ratchet and turn counterclockwise. The tension will be released and you can remove the belt. If it is the updated style, there is a nut(it's part of the tensioner) on the left side of the tensioner below the pulley. Kind of hard to see, but it's a 16mm or 17mm. Use the same method as above and you will release the tension from the tensioner and you can then remove the belt. You should be able to tell if it is the tensioner making the noise, because the tensioner will feel notchy when you put your ratchet on it and release the tension. Also look at the tensioner while the engine is running, if it is jumping around a lot the bearing is probably toasted. If you have a stethascope or a long screwdriver you can listen to the tensioner and other rotating parts on the engine while it is running. Good luck, I hope this helps.
