What should the voltage read on the battery

hello,

On my 2003 G500. With a floating charger I fully charged the battery with it still fully connected to the G. I let the battery sit for about 1 hour. And mesured the voltage. It only measured 12v.

Is this an indication that the battery is about to go. On my ML and slk when I do the same the battery will ready 12.5v after fully charged and connected to the car. I am thinking this could be how the battery is connected and what the current drain level is on each turck.

What do you folks measure on your G after full charging the battery (or after a long drive).

The G still seem to start strong.
