Cold Weather Problem
Temperature was 11 degrees below truck was warmed up and had been driven about 5 miles when engine rpm droped to about 1000 and would not change speed regardless of gas peddle position. Engine kept running could not increase speed. Shut off and restarted. Engine started right away and run perfectly. Any ideas of what happened.

Truck was being driven at about 50mph when it slowed. No indicating lights came on. Don't think it had anything to do with low range motor.

That is the "limp" mode kicking in. If the truck runs fine now, and continues to run fine, I bet a sensor somewhere (who knows which, maybe a single code got thrown, may want to pull them) froze up, or got covered in ice. Once it melted all was well. It happens a lot on wheel speed sensors, but that is NOT somehting that should have put the car in "limp".

it was the transfer case position motor 163-540-06-88 for me when this happened, the low range light also flashes and it won't up-shift. Then after you shut down and restart, it will drive fine.
