Frt Windshield washer and rear wiper quit

My 2000 ML (101,400 miles) wipers and washers have been working great until this morning. I got in and tried to clear the windshield and the front wipers worked but no washers. I tried the rear wiper and it and the rear washer do not work. THere is plenty or fluid and the fuses are good. There is no sound from the washer motors that they are even trying to work when I pull the wiper lever. I tried removing the #44 fuse (per one post)and to no avail. It acts like a common fuse or washer timer module which would control the length of time the washer motor runs before shutting off and I suspect activates the rear wiper. Is there a washer timer for this funtion or is it controlled by some multifunction computer?
