CPS replacement $550?
My 99 ML430...100k miles...just died on the freeway. Dealer says CPS needs replacement. After a search, I think that the $550 to diagnose and repair the issue sounds high. How about new pads and rotors for the front for $600?
Have they pegged me as the guy who will pay anything? I had the car towed to the dealer because it was my only real option, by the way. |
Crank position sensor replacement should take anyone working on MB's less that an hour! & the part lists for around $110. Diagnosis shouldn't take more than an hour......total $300-400. MAX.

But The Sensor First !

One bolt ( star fitting if i recall) to replace. takes 60 seconds to fix ( the 2nd time ). CPS - if no luck then the Mass Flow Air sensor another $100 easy easy fix. |
