CPS replacement $550?
My 99 ML430...100k miles...just died on the freeway. Dealer says CPS needs replacement. After a search, I think that the $550 to diagnose and repair the issue sounds high. How about new pads and rotors for the front for $600?
Have they pegged me as the guy who will pay anything? I had the car towed to the dealer because it was my only real option, by the way.

Crank position sensor replacement should take anyone working on MB's less that an hour! & the part lists for around $110. Diagnosis shouldn't take more than an hour......total $300-400. MAX.
