Just found out that the center knob (temp) appears to have broken off at the shaft. Not the clip inside the knob, but the shaft of the switch seems to have broken in two peices! That's one I've never seen before. I have the sinking feeling that the entire panel must be purchased, but has anyone had this problem? Solutiion that doesn't cost a jillion $$$? Thanks for your help...

what year?? the early unit, MB part 163-830-01-85 lists for $170.
