REAR SHOCKS OEM OR NOT ??
'98 ML 320 I need to change my rear shocks on this vehicle. It seems that the only shocks that fit this vehicle are the ones with the spring included. ( statement based on the VIN & MBZ parts man ) Is that fact or can I change 1) the shocks only, 2) is there a non-dealer option, 3) am I stuck with the dealer option. I note threads here where many do seem to just change the shocks, not the complete spring assembly. I did change the front shocks about 1 year ago. Rears have pretty much now worn out it seems. Any info appreciated. |

You are better served if you replace the complete unit.
The springs can be difficult to swap & they most likely are sagging as well.
