1998 ML320 is not working after I replaced the battery

Could someone please help me. My Mercede Benz 1998 ML320 is not working after I replaced the battery. After replacing the battery It won't stay started it just cuts off. The week before it started having this problem I did receive a diagnotic test that read Secondary Air pump what does this mean?
