Question External rear view mirror switch.

I have a 1999 ML 320, The switch that controls the external rear view mirrors suddenly went south. Got a price on the switch, but cannot seem to find a way to get it out to replace it. Anyone out there who has replaced this switch?

I owned a 1999 ML 320 for 14 years but sold it two years ago. I can't remember -- is the mirror switch in the center console? If it is, search for a procedure to R&R the door lock switch which, as I recall, is in the center console. That will explain how to remove the center console.

There is a ton of information out there on door lock repair because they frequently "went south" as you say. Search this site for "machine gun locks" and I'm sure you'll see what I am talking about.

Sorry, I can't help you with the part number.

Meh......Ignore my previous advice. I looked for you and most of what I was suggesting would tell you how to R&R the door lock actuator inside a door.

Here is what you need to read to see how to remove the center console:

Simple Web Page

You can do some PM on your window switches while you're in there.
