2015 GLK 350 4matic Tailgate/Liftgate Issue

Hello, My tailgate is out of alignment. The electric gate lift works perfectly and locks but the tailgate is out of alignment on the upper left side (driver side) by about 1/2 of an inch. Could the problem be the tailgate actuator on the left hinge? How do I adjust the tailgate to even out gaps on both sides? Could the actuator shaft be bent? Could it be a bent hinge even though they appear to be cast iron? Do the hinges have adjustment for aligning the tailgate? How can the actuator be removed so I can inspect it? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated since I do not have a clue on what to do. Thanks JPrest
