2002 ML320 Brake Problems. Driving me crazy. Pls help

Hi Members,

I have a 2002 ML 320 with a spongy pedal. Replaced MC and power bled lines. Same problem. No CEL's. Pedal sometimes goes to floor. I am stumped. Any suggestions? Any help appreciated. Michael Bisk, Cell: 908-451-4400

Did you bench bleed the MC before you installed it?

did you check the break booster vacuum-hose.

here is a link on a thread although not for a ML but on my 2000 ml it has a similar set up. There are others links on the web if you search and there are detail instructions on how to remove the vacuum hose.

There are also break test you can do to test if you have a vacuum leak in the MC.

P.s. both my 2000 ML and my wife 2008 ML seem to have spongy breaks, but then again they don't go to the floor just almost there.

good luck
