disconnect 98 ML rear window washer line
Does anyone know how to disconnect the rear window washer line? My 98 ML tailgate (near the door lach) was rusting and my dealer replaced the whole door (yes, I got a brand spanking new door with new paint after 5 years). I just realized that the culprit of this rusting was probably due to the leaky washer line that goes into the rear window washer jet. I don't want to pay the dear to replace it, since I don't use that washer I want to just disconnect it from the washer reservoir so that it won't leak and rust my new tailgate again.
Any thoughts? p.s.: I found that there are two pump attached to the washer reservoir mounted under the hood, which one should I disconnect, and is there any consequence if I disconnect it? Thanks steve |

Washer line
MLs are such junk, and I speak from experience, having had one for a year.
disconnect one pump, use the windshield washer if it does not spray, you got the right one, disconnect the wire to the pump, cap it or fold the hose in half secure with a tie wrap. I doubt your washer had anything to do with the rust, water can get in there various ways. |
