I know this topic has been brought up. The check engine light came on a few days ago but the vehicle runs fine. Will it hurt the vehicle if I keep driving it? I know it can be a thousand things that cause the light to come on, I am just concern if I am doing more damage before I can get it to the dealer.

BTW, the light came on when my wife put gas in the vehicle. I opened and closed the gas cap and the light went out for a few days. Now it is back and stays on no matter what I do. Please help!!
