Sunroof Deflector broken - DIY?

It seems that the plastic guides are broken on both sides and now the deflector interfere with the closing of the sunroof.

Anyone try to repair this them self?

Asked wife to order the parts, but she was told she needed to bring the ML to the shop - really complicated task. True?

This is on a 2001 ML430.

Thanks,
Nimo

Found a note from Beto on Benzworld. Will try to fix this myself.

"You can fix sunroof yourself. The clips that hold the wind deflector are not very strong, and sometimes they break or come out of place. If they are broken, get new ones and put them back just by snapping into place with some pressure. If they came out, just put it back. I had the same problem, I took to the dealer and made me wait over two hours. The second time around I did it myself in 10 minutes after I figured it out. Piece of cake!"

Part III in my solo thread
I had to buy the whole deflector part as a kit for $45.98: 163-780-00-44
- Said to be new design, but I looks exactly like the one I removed. Hope it holds up better.
Instructions were included and I got the new deflector on in 20 minutes. Reading the instructions helps - I first missed out on snapping the arm in place before installing the clip.

Have fun,
Nimo
