ML Trip Computer
I recently had my trip computer changed out due to an overnight reset problem. The computer wouldn't hold the date or average MPG. After changing by the dealer two times, the new computer will not record average MPG after being reset.
The newly installed one ihas a different part number, which the dealer claims is the new replacement. He borrowed one from an older ML (the same part as the old one) and it worked fine. The dealer says that Mercedes obviously dropped that function with the newer computer and live with it. Does anybody have any information? Thanks in advance. |

Dealer BS
I would not accept that answer! Average MPG is an important feature, not to be deleted due to production design changes.

I had my trip computer replace 4 times on my 2001 ML320. 1 time it was replaced with an incorrect part number with less functions, I think the compass was missing. Anyway I *****ed about it and got the one with all the functions.
By the way... one thing I have noticed about the computer is that when it is set to USA the miles to empty function says "FUEL" when you hit 75 miles or so. Switch it to Germany and it will go down to 0 km. Perfect for my wife who waits for me to gas her up. -Dave 2001 ML320 |
