Question Battery Life Expectancy

What is the life expectancy of the battery in the ML. Mine's about 4 1/2 years and it seems to be fine. It's a GNB. I can not find anything on it that says how many month battery it's suppposed to be.

Vehicle is driven daily so that no doubt helps.

The lead battery life expectance is 5 years.
May last longer. I change my battery on 190D after 7 years.
I don’t know if the battery which you have is maintenance free or you can check the acid by hydro miter. Each cell has to be in same level.Normally one of the cell getting short by the lead.
On my 260E battery last only two years.
4.5 years is very good.

Best Regards.

With the warranty running out next month on my 2000 ML430, I went and replaced it as preventive maintenance. Got one at the dealer for $109.00 and it fit like a glove. I looked around at a lot of other brands etc. but none fit like the original and their cost was not that much different. The other dealer in town wanted $140.00 for it. The list price where I got it was $180.00. Probably could have gotten more out of the old one but not willing to take a chance. Just my 2 cents.

My battery completely died just 5 days after my above post. Just like Q's, no indication of any problem. It worked fine in the morning then when I came home and tried to start it again it was dead, measured 8.5 volts.

Mine died at the train station, in the rain, at about 4 1/2 yrs. No prior indications of trouble. In fact, car was running, engine was turned off & then car wouldn't start. After MB jump it, worked fine, but to be safe I replaced it. Didn't want to risk another failure.
