Washer Antifreeze
My dealer in Escondido (southern CA) says he does not have anything except the summer additive and cannot find any winter solvent to order in the parts catalog. I would prefer to stick with MB additives. Does anyone know the part number or a source for MB washer antifreeze and solvent. It would be hard to believe that they do not have one.

RAINX Yellow Stuff
I recommend to use RAIN-X the winter formula.. I had MB Washerfluid in there and the lines were frozen. Not good news.. I was on the highway and everything was frozen.. I believe theres is concentrated which is like 1:50 mix ratio or something like that.. I use the Rain-X stuff during the winter and I never had the frozen line problem again!

They used to have winter (W) additive and Summer (S) additive, the stuff in the small soft plastic bottles.
They then switched (about 5 or so years ago) to a single product I believe is called VR9422 (not sure about the 9422) which is summer and winter use. You're supposed to use it with straight water in the summer, or "domestically available" washer anti-freeze in the winter. I think all it is is detergent to help keep the blades clean. MB used to put a few of these in the trunk of the new cars, not lately that I am aware of. So you can use whatever washer solvent you like with an appropriate freezing point, I like the yellow colored Prestone washer solvent. One of those small bottles of VR 9422(?) treats about a gallon or two of washer solvent/anti-freeze. Just ask in the parts dept about the washer solvent additive, it's all MB sells now, they do NOT sell the solvent/anti-freeze itself, just the small tubes of additive! Gilly |

Sorry, just read Tabo's post, just to clarify, the small tubes from MB is NOT anti-freeze protection at all, they don't state that it is either. In the winter you need to use your OWN anti-freeze stuff, and MB sells this additive stuff. I don't really think the additive stuff does all that much, just use a "name brand" washer solvent, it may work better. The additive stuff smells an awful lot like dish soap to me........
