Question Transfer Case: Fluid Change

I read in another post that the transfer case uses regular Dextron III. If that is still correct is there a recommended service interval? If so what is it?

I believe that "regular" atf is correct. There is no service interval.

Unhappy Gilly

Gilly when I changed my transmission fluid it was not cheap at all.. The local Mercedes Parts dealer gave me synthetic transmission fluid.. it was very expensive, are you sure you can use regular dextron 3? cuz they may have sold me dextron 3 in a mercedes bottle, than I would be really pissed off heheh..

Tabo
Just DexronIII/Mercon in the transfer case. The stuff in the MB bottles for the transmission itself (the 722.6 transmission fluid) is pricey, does $14 or so per liter sound right? Well, I mean not RIGHT, but what you were charged?

Gilly, thats about right

So is the stuff in the MB bottles same as Dextron 3? cuz those are very cheap at the local stores... I thought MB has a special Transmission Fluid thus the not required service option?
