Anyone ever hear of it? Know anything about it?

I missed the boat on investing in property down here and am looking for something a "poor man " could invest in for the long term. I actually had a couple of places that made some money when I sold them, but I would have made TRIPLE if I would have held on. The real estate market here is crazy...........

I went last week and was shocked at the home prices.

40-50 percent cheaper than Miami for comparable homes.

I realize there is not a large employment base there but it's great for retirees....like my Dad....and for people who don't just want to get by, or get by with less stress.

There are tons of lakes, a racially mized community. It is actually quite nice and I figure that it is bound to increase in price as more and more people from down here are moving up there.

I plan on going up again next week and looking at some houses for him and see what happens. The plan is for him to move(he's priced out of S, Florida with his pension and ss) there and get comfortable in his own home. When he feels like seeing his kids, grandkids, he hops on Amtrak and he's here in 3.5 hours, No stress, no mess. He sleeps over for 2-3 days then goes back.

In the meantime, he keeps his eye out for other stuff that might be available.

Thoughts?

Forpoint of reference, a 3/2 wiht garage on 2.32 acres, 6 miles out of town.....139,000 bucks....

A 3/2 2 car garage, 1 block from Lake is 106,000

Boggles my mind.
