Ebay/PayPal newbie question

I'm kinda new to the ebay buying experience. I have probably made 5 or so purchases, and all were paid with money order. but I'm beginning to find it a pain to drive to the grocery store to buy MO, not to mention having to go get some cash if I don't have enough in my wallet. the convenience of paying with paypal is kinda tickling my fancy. just how safe is it? I have heard that it is safe, and then I hear that paypal really doesn't care about your security. was gonna register a pp account, but then I read a post about identity theft and how the thief got info from ebay's pp. and then there is talk about spyware and stuff. is it a big risk using pp?

I use it all of the time for eBay and other types of purchases. Never had a problem. You can view your item by item transactions any time you want. Maybe I've just been lucky . . .

PP IMHO is a very good operation. People generally run into problems due to their own stupidity. They reply to ebay phishing scams (someone sends you an ebay looking email asking for your account info), use easy passwords and just bascially give out info to anyone that asks. Ebay info is easy to attain so be smart. Use passwords that are not dictionary words and use special charactors (!@#$%^&*) in it.

I haven't had any bacd experiences with paypal and it has suited me very well. FYI they just setteled in a class action lawsuit regarding security and peoples accoutns being hacked etc. I have not had these experiences though and most probly haven't you should sign up.
