Recommendation needed for fire insurance

Considering all the flaming that goes on in this forum, I thought this would be a good place to ask:

Can anyone recommend a good company for fire insurance? My mortgage company repuires that I have it.

Thanks!

Thanks, Narwhal!

If you don't mind, could you forward the name of your broker and his contact info to me? I just don't have the time to search through the hundreds of guys on the internet to choose one and figure if he/she's good enough for you, that's good enough for me!

PM me if you like.

Thanks again!

So, my advice is to use a broker instead of a "XYZ" agent. FYI--I have made numerous claims (some outlined on this forum) through my broker and have had excellent customer service and claims handling.
We have about the same inventory. What company are you using? How often do you change?

Thanks! I've used State Farm for a long time, and they, too offer multi line and long term discounts. Or say they do. I’m not adverse to changing, just never have the desire to play 200 questions for each item. On the supposition you’ve looked at it before, do you see much of a difference amongst the name brand insurance companies?

Fascinating captain! Imagine me picking up the yellow pages looking for insurance brokers..........

Actually I think I've had one claim on my house in 10 years and they were okay with it.
